🐕🐕🐕🚲 First Dog Run of 2025/2026
Tonight marked the first true breath of the new sledding season — the moment the land, the cold, and my dogs all spoke the same language again.
As the early evening chill settled across the open tundra, I harnessed my four companions for their first run of 2025/2026. Lada and Willow stood steadfast in lead, steady and wise, while Locomotive and Lacy held the power line behind them. The moment the gangline tightened, their spirits rose — eager paws carving purpose into the frozen earth.
There is nothing in this world that fills me with more life than watching my dogs run. The rhythm of their breath, the soft hiss of snow or gravel under their paws, the way they look back with bright eyes as if to ask, “Are you ready?” It is a bond older than memory — a partnership carried through generations of people who lived close to the land, trusting the strength and heart of their dogs.
Just a simple evening run. Cold air. Quiet sky. Four good dogs moving as one.
I filmed a short vertical video of the run — a small glimpse into the life that sets my spirit alight.
